Course Description

Intro to Printmaking is a studio art course focusing on methods of printing and the concept of multiples. This course will stress relief and intaglio; however, monotype, xerography, and collage will also be covered.

Course Goals

Each student should:

  • develop an understanding of print methods,
  • create competent works of art with the guidance of the course projects,
  • understand how to properly and safely navigate the print shop and equipment necessary to the course, and
  • engage in critical discussion of work with course-mates during critiques and throughout the semester.
